Fire & Life – The Road Show

As infrastructure renovations begin at the New York State Fire Academy, the 49th Annual Fire & Life Safety Educators’ Training hits the road with the all new ‘Road Show’. The ‘Road Show’ will take place at four departments over three days.

Cooking is the number one cause of home fires. Be safe when using outdoor grills this summer.
Follow these safety tips!
– Move the grill away from siding, decking, and other things that can catch fire.
– Stay with the grill the entire time you’re cooking.
– Use long-handled barbecue tools when cooking on the grill.

The New York State Association Fire Safety Educators continues their push of Exit Drills In The Home (EDITH)


Since 1985, the New York State Association Fire Safety Educators have been pushing their EDITH program. Their message is simple, practice exit drills in the home. Their program teaches students the importance of exit drills and exit plans.

NY-SAFE Attends The 47th Montour Fall’s Public Educator Conference

New York State Association of Firesafety Educators attends The Mountour Falls 47th  New York Public Educators Conference hosted by New York State Association of Fire Chief and OFPC.

Members attended multiple classroom sessions and hands on training to learn how they can better deliver fire safety education to the public. Members learned about poverty, cultures, cancers, presentation styles, and many more. Members plan to use their learning to help push EDITH.
